Wear something that makes you feel beautiful
When you feel beautiful – you’ll feel much more confident in front of the camera, trust us! Pick an outfit that you feel most stunning and beautiful in to wear for your shoot. In fact, why pick just the one? During our boudoir shoots you get three outfit changes, so you can make the most of your favourite pieces and capture them all on camera. Try to pick a range of colours – blacks, reds and pinks work really well and offer the perfect colours for a boudoir shoot.
Opt for something new
If you’re wanting to wear lingerie for your shoot – then opting for pieces that are new or barely used is the best approach. This is for two reasons, the first being that this will work best on camera as it will ensure the piece is the highest quality. The second is that shopping for a new outfit is all part of the fun! Wearing some new will help you feel fresh and sexy meaning it’s the perfect excuse to hit the shops and treat yourself.
Before your boudoir shoot, definitely think about what accessories will work well with your outfit choices. Bring along a range of items such as pearls, long necklaces, statement earrings, hats, fishnets or stockings. Having a variety will be great for you to choose from on the day and will allow you to pick pieces that complement each outfit. Accessories will not only look great, but they can also act as a prop during the shoot. This can be really handy to relax you into your photoshoot and give you something to focus on.
Get those high heels out
We all know that shoes can take an outfit from a 5 to a 10 instantly! Heels have that added effect that they ooze sexiness and can make an outfit come to life. Not only with they look great, but they’ll also help to better your posture. When you wear heels, you’re almost forced to stand that bit taller and carry yourself in a more self-assured way – this will look great in your photos! They will also extend your leg length making them look even sexier on camera, a win win!
Experiment with colour
An obvious choice when it comes to lingerie is black. It’s classic, sexy and looks great on camera so if that’s the look you want to go for, it will work well. However, if you want to go for something a bit bolder for one of your outfits – try and experiment with colour. Fiery reds, sweet blush pinks or stunning mauves are really great colours that will inject some personality into your outfit. If you want to add a pop of colour, but don’t want to be too bold – try adding some coloured accessories and keeping black as a base.
Remember it doesn’t have to be lingerie
Of course, lingerie is a natural choice when it comes to a boudoir photoshoot – but, it isn’t the only choice. If you don’t feel confident enough to wear lingerie or you fancy opting for something a bit more subtle, there are some great choices you can go for. Try a simple button-down shirt, a silk robe or an oversized sweater and underwear. All of these can be equally as power as lingerie.
